Education

Education

We believe education is vital to help nurture the next generation of culinary talents. And in a globalised, technology-driven world, vulnerable to huge global forces such as pandemics, it’s now more important than ever for chefs to have a broad skillset, and to be adaptable and open-minded.

Thus, the S.Pellegrino Young Chef Academy program will educate Young Chefs in fields often overlooked in traditional culinary schools, such as business and management, marketing and communication, inclusivity, and how to utilise new technologies.

Live and recorded seminars will be available to Members in different formats (videos, podcasts, PDFs) in a reserved area of the website and in the private Facebook group.

This will give the young chefs the tools they need to navigate and succeed in today’s complex world.

Mentoring
Mentoring

In order to prosper, talented young chefs must learn from the best. That’s why the S.Pellegrino Young Chef Academy will foster productive and inspiring relationships between Young and Senior Chefs.

Young Chefs will have the opportunity to mentor at Senior Chefs’ restaurants and to reach out to them via the Academy’s private Facebook group for on-going exchanges of tips and suggestions, whether through private messaging or periodical discussions.

S.Pellegrino will also encourage tight professional relationships through exciting culinary collaborations, such as four-hands dinners and public events.

Networking
Networking

S.Pellegrino has always sought to connect people from around the world that share a passion for gastronomy. With the Academy, we will build a community of like-minded people, bringing together colleagues and industry personalities to inspire and educate the next generation of culinary talent.

Through the Academy’s private Facebook group and private messaging, Members will develop interesting and fruitful peer-to-peer and cross-generational relationships.

Opportunities
Opportunities

As Members of the Academy, Young Chefs will make their professional profiles available to Senior Members through a dedicated database that will sit in a private area of the website.

Every Senior Chef/Partner involved in the Academy will have access to this private area and be able to browse the personal profiles of the talented Young Chefs from any edition of the competition at will.

Senior Members will be encouraged to reach out to Young Chefs with collaboration, internship or employment opportunities, and the Young Chefs to keep their profiles up to date. This database will be a one of a kind resource of the world’s best young chefs.

Who are the young chefs? What are their working conditions, ambitions, and professional needs?

In collaboration with Fine Dining Lovers, we have created an observatory tool: a periodical survey - the Academy Monitor - to check the opinions and status of young professionals

The results of the S.Pellegrino Young Chef Academy Monitor Survey will be shared among Academy Members, as well as with the press, to bring attention to the next generation of visionary chefs.

The first edition of the Academy Monitor survey was conducted in November 2020 and will be the subject of the opening seminars of the Academy.

Over the years, it will be an interesting insight to check back on the evolution of these young chefs and we, the S.Pellegrino Young Chef Academy, are excited to watch their talents develop.
