The most exciting talent search for young chefs in the world, S.Pellegrino Young Chef 2019-2020 will soon be commencing the regional competitions stage. This latest edition of the competition introduces three new awards at the Regional Finals level, in addition to the existing award of S.Pellegrino Young Chef winner of each Region, resulting in a total of four awards up for grabs. The winners of each of the 4 awards at Regional level will then proceed to the Grand Finale in 2020.

S.Pellegrino Young Chef Award

The local jury of each regional competition will evaluate the presented dishes based on the three Golden Rules, selecting one young chef at each Regional Final who displays the strongest technical skills, genuine creativity and an exceptional personal belief about gastronomy.

Fine Dining Lovers Food for Thought Award

This award is voted for by the online Fine Dining Lovers community, foodies, chefs and fans of gastronomy all over the world. Voting will open online on Fine Dining Lovers for defined periods for each region. It asks for the online community to select the young chef who best represents their personal belief within their dish.

S.Pellegrino Award for Social Responsibility

Each Regional Finalist also has the chance to win the S.Pellegrino Award for Social Responsibility, decided by Food Made Good, an internationally recognized voice on Sustainability in food. The award selects the chef who puts forward the dish that best represents the principle of food as a result of socially responsible practices.

Acqua Panna Award for Connection in Gastronomy

The Regional Finals also provide the opportunity for the local mentors to vote for one chef from each region whose signature dish reflects the perfect connection between different cultures. The purpose of the award is to emphasize the growing trend in global gastronomy of “Chefs without Borders”.

The winners of each of these awards will go on to compete for the global title for each of the categories at the Grand Finale in 2020. This is one of the important changes introduced in this edition of S.Pellegrino Young Chef, to further reinforce S.Pellegrino’s belief in nurturing and supporting young culinary talent, and to secure a better future for gastronomy.
