Daniel Nates is the S.Pellegrino Young Chef Latin America Regional Finalist

Daniel Nates is the Young Chef from Mexico to represent Latin America at the S.Pellegrino Young Chef 2016 Grand Final.

Daniel Nates from restaurant Maizal in Mexico has been announced as the winner of the S.Pellegrino Young Chef Latin America regional final.

With his winning signature dish entitled Quiltamal, Nates successfully outshone the nine other semifinalists, as presented to the local jury of professional chefs: Rodolfo Guzmán (Chile), Rodrigo Oliveira (Brazil), Diego Muñoz (Perú) and Guillermo González Beristain (México).

Straight to the final

“I’m thrilled to represent Mexico in Milan,” said Nates. “The Grand Final in October will be a great opportunity to meet and compete against other young chefs from all over the world."

Nates will now have the opportunity to compete in the global final under the guidance of mentor Guillermo González Beristain with the chance of winning the prestigious title of S.Pellegrino Young Chef 2016.
