Nicolaos Billis is Mediterranean Countries Winner

Nicolaos Billis will represent the Mediterranean Countries at the S.Pellegrino Young Chef 2016 Grand Final.

The S.Pellegrino Young Chef Mediterranean Countries regional final was held in the Hilton Hotel, Tel-Aviv on 31 May with 10 promising young chefs competing in the kitchen for the opportunity to represent the region at the grand final in October.

In front of a 300 strong audience, Nicolaos Billis from Greece was announced as the winner with his signature dish "Nostimon Imar", with second place going to Stamatios Misomikes, also from Greece, with his dish entitled "Salas", with third place being awarded to Idan Peretz from Israel, with "Smoking Candy Shop".

The young chefs each created their signature dishes and presented them to the three professional judges: Chef Olivier Campanha from Greece, Chef Aydin Demir from Turkey and Chef Meir Adoni from Israel who were responsible for selecting the overall best young chef.

Nicolaos Billis will now spend the months ahead honing his dish under the guidance of his mentor, Meir Adoni, in preparation for the final competition in Milan.
