S.Pellegrino Young Chefs are Included on Forbes List of Most Exciting Creatives

Three S.Pellegrino young chefs have been named on Forbes’s list of the 30 most exciting creatives under 30 in Europe.

S.Pellegrino is proud to announce that three former S.Pellegrino Young Chef competitors have been named in Forbes’s list of the 30 most exciting creatives under 30 in Europe.

Mark Moriarty (25), David Andrés (29) and Christian Pettersen (27), 2015 winner, 2015, 2016 and 2018 grand finalist and 2015 grand finalist respectively, all feature on the Forbes list, which draws together the most inspiring young people across the arts, including artists, designers, photographers, filmmakers, entrepreneurs, and food professionals.

According to Forbes, every young person on the list "has a deep connection to their place of birth, where they live and where they work, while also fearlessly facing the world and the boundaries between different artistic disciplines."

Moriarty’s signature vegetarian dish won him the inaugural edition of S.Pellegrino Young Chef and he hoped his win “would help shine the culinary spotlight on his home country.” He has since been a keen ambassador for his Ireland, cooking pop-up dinners all over the world, as well as speaking at the pioneering chef event, Food on the Edge.

David Andrés, who is Chef de Cuisine at the two Michelin-starred ABaC Restaurant & Hotel in Barcelona, as well as running his own restaurant, Somiatruites, was named the best young chef in the Spain and Portugal region at S.Pellegrino Young Chef for three consecutive years and is said to "truly represent the excellence of Spanish cuisine."

Completing the talented trio is the young Norwegian Pettersen, currently Head Chef at Mondo in Sandnes, who competed against Moriarty in 2015 as the S.Pellegrino Scandinavia region finalist. His drive and talent are testament to his late father’s training in which his interest was sparked aged just nine years old.
